About Beyond Music Worship Conference THE THEME The theme for Beyond Music Conference is taken from 1 Corinthians 2:4, Paul tells the gentiles… “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power” Ever since the first conference in 2006, we have seen an increase not only in attendance, but also in a real demonstration of God’s power. It is our sincere desire and prayer that God would continue to visit the state of Alaska with His life changing power poured out in our worship and we have been blessed to see and experience an increase in unity, fellowship, and strength during our times together at BMC. THE VISION Music is mentioned in the Bible 233 times, praise is mentioned 2,455 times, and worship is mentioned 2,187 times. The history of Hebrew music, as well as the history of Israel’s higher civilization in general and the organization of the musical services in the temple, began with King David’s reign. Not only has the creation and singing of Psalms been ascribed to David but also the inventing of musical instruments. 2 Chronicles 7:6 6 And the priests waited on their offices: the Levites also with instruments of musick of the LORD, which David the king had made to praise the LORD, because his mercy endureth for ever, when David praised by their ministry; and the priests sounded trumpets before them, and all Israel stood. Notice that is says, because his mercy endureth forever, when David praised by their ministry. ATTENTION: God’s mercy covers us when we praise! The word music that is used here comes from the word Sumphonia, which literally speaks of a union of sounds, a symphony, or a concert of instruments… THE PRAISE AND WORSHIP GROUP! Music is an incredibly powerful tool; King David believed it to the extent that he even invented instruments in order to fully take advantage of its power to praise God with it. Recognizing this, it is only fitting that those of us who have been entrusted by our churches, or called by the Lord Himself into this type of ministry learn all that we can about this tool and it’s use. It is the vision of Beyond Music Conference to provide this instruction to anyone who is interested in learning regardless of position or skill level, through clinics, demonstrations, seminars, and workshops as well as exciting worship concerts conducted by sincere, anointed, committed, and well trained individuals. Join us as we stretch out our cords throughout the state of Alaska… and yes… the world!
